Automated piano tuning · In development

A new approach
to piano tuning.

SismoTune brings scanning, guided movement and piano mapping together in an automated tuning system.

Explore the approach
Built around the piano. Developed with automation in mind.First prototype targeted for late 2026
The approach

Map the instrument.
Guide the movement.

Every piano presents a physical layout to understand. SismoTune is being developed to locate tuning pins and guide an automated mechanism across the instrument.

Its software combines scanning with stored reference layouts for familiar piano models.

Scan

Locate the piano’s tuning pins to establish a working map of the instrument.

Recognise

Use reference layouts of known piano models to support instrument mapping.

Position

Guide the tuning mechanism along rails to the identified pin locations.

From concept to prototype

The next step
is a working prototype.

Development is underway. The first prototype is targeted for the end of 2026, when practical testing can begin.

Tuning performance and supported piano models will be detailed as validation progresses.
